Educated at the Commercial College of Iceland, The University in Lund, Sweden and The University of Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. Apart from Political Studies and General Linguistics, her main focus was on Scandinavian Studies, Sociolinguistics and Bilingual children and their language acquisition. She taught Icelandic to Icelandic children in Sweden and has been involved in teaching Icelandic as a foreign language on www.skoli.eu as well as developing teaching material.
Gudrun Is fluent in all the Nordic languages and works as a translator, based in Copenhagen.
